For the Saxophone Admirer
Harvey Pittel, world-renowned saxophonist, will perform at the Performing Arts Center Recital Hall Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. as part of Texas State’s International Concert Series. According to the University Events Calendar, Pittel has played in symphonies across the United States, including the New York and Los Angeles Philharmonics, Boston, Denver and Seattle Symphonies, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and more. Tickets to the event are $8 for students, senior citizens and military with valid ID and $15 for adults.
For the Bobcat Football Fan
The Texas State Bobcats will take on the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks at Bobcat Stadium on Nov. 19. The game, which will air on ESPU, begins at 8:30 p.m.
For the Rock Band Enthusiast
Blue October will take the stage at The Marc Nov. 20 and 21 in a special two-night event. According to Tour San Marcos, the concert will celebrate the release of the bands new live DVD and CD. Tickets to each night of the show are $25 and can be purchased on the venue’s website.
For the Art Admirer
Centro Cultural Hispano de San Marcos is hosting its annual Artisan Market Nov. 21 from 9 a.m to 5p.m. at 211 Lee Street. According to Tour San Marcos, the market will have various kinds of handmade art. The event will also feature a Children’s Christmas Shop with items at $5 or less to give kids the opportunity to buy gifts for their friends and family.
For those who Appreciate San Marcos Culture
Thigh High Gardens will host the 2015 Hill Country Fair Nov. 21 and 22 at 2070 Lime Kiln Rd. According to Tour San Marcos, the fair will feature music, an Aerial Silk performance and various local artisans. The event begins at 12 p.m. Nov. 21 and attendees have the option to camp overnight. On the morning of Nov. 22, a brunch will be available to campers with plates by donation. Tickets are $25, which includes camping, and there is also a $5 fee per vehicle. Tickets can be purchased on the fair’s website.
