For the Job Seeker

Whether students are applying for their first internship or looking to start a career after graduation, it is important to know how to pitch yourself to a future employer. Brilliant Bobcats is hosting a resume workshop on Nov. 3 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. to help students learn how to develop a resume that shows off their achievements. The event is free and open to undergraduate and graduate Texas State students.

 

For the Philosophy Devotee

Texas State’s Department of Philosophy will host a discussion about bilingual education in Texas on Nov. 4 as part of their Philosophy Dialogue Series. The event, which is free and open to all Texas State students and faculty, aims to apply what students are learning in their philosophy classes to the real world. The event is set to take place in the Comal Dialogue Room (116) from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

 

For the Country Music Admirer

Stoney LaRue is set to perform at The Marc on Nov. 5. The native Texan, who recently released his album Us Time on Oct. 16, is set to take the stage at 9 p.m. Tickets to the event are $15 and can be purchased here.

 

For the Patriotic Bobcat

Students and community members looking to honor those who have served can head downtown Nov. 7 to participate in the 2015 San Marcos Veterans Day Parade. Beginning at 8:30 a.m., event attendees can enjoy a free breakfast and live music on the lawn of the Hays County Courthouse, followed by a parade through the city.

 

For the Theatre Fanatic

The Price Center will put on The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton Nov. 6, 7, 13, 14, 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets for the play, which follows a group of teenage outcasts, can be purchased for $18.
